Gevin Reynolds


Gevin Reynolds is a writer and political commentator from Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Harvard in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in neurobiology, he worked in the sports industry before his appointment to the Biden-Harris Administration in 2021. From 2021 to 2023, Gevin held a variety of roles at the White House, including Special Advisor to the National Cyber Director and Associate Director of Speechwriting to Vice President Kamala Harris.

Since leaving the White House in July of 2023, Gevin has become a frequent contributor to The Root, writing about political issues relevant to the Black community. In addition to his work for The Root, Gevin has published opinion pieces on issues of race, politics, law, and democracy in a variety of outlets including USA TodayThe HillCNNThe Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Detroit Free Press, and The New York Daily News. He has been a guest on CNN Newsroom and appears regularly as a panelist on Roland Martin Unfiltered.

Gevin graduated from Harvard University, where he was a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar, with a degree in neurobiology. He has been volunteering with KITES since its founding and joined the Board of Directors in 2019.
